Anthony Wayne Area Council
Venturing
You love exploring your passions, making new friends, and discovering the world. You’re always looking for an adventure. Rappelling a cliff. Perfecting your shot. Designing a robot. Kayaking into the sunset. Exploring your faith. Volunteering at an animal shelter. The choice is yours! Each activity provides an opportunity to shine and learn more about yourself and the world around you. Venturing is youth-led and youth-inspired. You’ll acquire life skills and gain experiences that will prove to be valuable regardless of where your future takes you, all while having a blast: leadership, event-planning, organization, communication, responsibility – the list goes on!
SEA SCOUTS
For over 100 years Sea Scouting has promoted better citizenship and improved members’ boating skills through instruction and practice in water safety, boating skills, outdoor, social, service experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage.
Venturing/Sea Scouts Outdoor Program
Outdoor adventure is the promise made to youth when they join Scouting. Scouts yearn for outdoor programs that stir their imagination and interest.
Summer Camp
Summer camp is what many Scouts enjoy most. Camp programs provide numerous opportunities for Scouts to earn merit badges along their advancement trail. Anthony Wayne Area Council hosts Boy Scout Summer Camp at Anthony Wayne Scout Reservation, Camp Chief Little Turtle. For complete information about the fantastic program at CCLT, click here.
Camporees
Districts plan camporees and other outings during the year that give Scouts an opportunity to test their knowledge and skills in competitive events with other troops and patrols. See the calendar or individual district page for more information!
Council High Adventure
Annually, the Anthony Wayne Area Council sponsors contingents to attend the national high adventure bases owned and operated by the Boy Scouts. Stay tuned for information on the 2020 and 2021 trips!
National High Adventure Bases
The BSA operates national high-adventure bases and programs. With two locations in the Florida Keys, the Florida National High Adventure Sea Base offers a variety of aquatic and boating programs. The Northern Tier National High Adventure Program, based in northern Minnesota with two satellite bases in Canada, provides a variety of canoe treks and programs. Philmont Scout Ranch in the mountains of New Mexico provides excellent backpacking treks. Age requirements for these programs vary, but most programs are rugged and designed for older Scouts.
